Dominic “Dom” Negrin is a passionate saxophonist and dedicated musician whose
journey began with trumpet in third grade before discovering his true voice through the
saxophone in middle school. A 2025 graduate of both the San Diego School of Creative
and Performing Arts and Mira Costa College—where he earned an Associate’s Degree
in History and a spot on the President’s Permanent Honor Roll—Dominic will continue
his studies this fall at The New School in New York City, pursuing a BFA in Jazz and
Contemporary Music.
Dominic is an alum of the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory and the San Diego Youth
Symphony, and performed with the SDYS Jazz Ensemble. He co-founded “Jazz Inc.”
during the pandemic, securing a busking license to perform live music safely. He
received a full scholarship to Berklee’s Aspire Program and was named a Blanchard
Institute Student Self-Leadership Superstar in 2024.
Winner of the Gerry Mulligan Jazz Challenge (2022), Dominic has performed in musical
theater productions and at events like the Jazz Education Network conference and
CABSE. With a deep love for jazz and collaboration, he brings both creativity and
leadership to every stage.
